Across government, critical agreements are often slowed by disconnected systems and manual processes. The result: mission-critical information stuck in static documents, delayed service delivery, higher compliance risks, and growing frustration for both employees and constituents.

Intelligent Agreement Management (IAM) transforms agreements from static points of delay into dynamic sources of data, allowing federal agencies to modernize their processes with enterprise-grade security and compliance support.

The Docusign IAM platform has officially received FedRAMP Moderate authorization. This milestone unlocks a secure path to digital transformation-helping agencies replace paper-heavy, siloed workflows with faster, smarter, and more connected ways of working with agreements.

Soon, we'll be extending these benefits even further. Our GovRAMP authorization will make the IAM platform available to state and local governments, helping them to continue their modernization journey and improve public services.

Unlocking value for public sector agencies

With FedRAMP Moderate authorization now, and GovRAMP authorization coming soon, public sector agencies can take full advantage of the IAM platform to modernize how they work with agreements and deliver services. The value is clear across three core areas:

  • Simplify and modernize the constituent experience: Agencies can provide digital-first, self-service applications that are easy to use, quick to deploy, and seamlessly integrated with existing systems. This improves accessibility for constituents and reduces the burden of paperwork for both the public and agency staff.

  • Improve agreement operations for maximum efficiency: Routine tasks like signing, routing, and filing are automated, freeing employees to focus on higher-value work. The result is faster turnaround times, reduced administrative overhead, and cost savings.

  • Securely centralize data, surface insights, and build trust: Agencies can store and manage agreements in a secure, centralized repository that transforms documents into actionable data. Real-time analysis enables the identification of trends, monitoring of compliance, and informed decision-making, while robust security and transparency controls safeguard sensitive information.

Docusign customer San Miguel County was able to achieve these key outcomes thanks to the IAM platform.

The newly authorized platform brings together the products agencies already trust, like eSignature, with a suite of new features designed to create a more connected, intelligent agreement process. By unifying these capabilities, agencies can eliminate manual, siloed workflows and operate with greater efficiency.

  • Workflow orchestration with Maestro: Agencies can standardize how agreements are created, signed, and managed through this no-code workflow builder. Each step in the process can be defined with clear roles, actions, and criteria for completion, allowing staff to automate agreement workflows across departments and integrate with existing applications.

  • Seamless integrations through App Center: The App Center connects agreement tools directly to core government systems, within Docusign, removing the need to switch platforms or manually move data. This includes integrations with widely used applications such as Salesforce and Microsoft, ensuring that data flows securely and accurately across the enterprise.

  • Centralized repository with Navigator: Once agreements are executed, they can be stored in a secure, centralized repository. AI-powered search scans documents to surface key data points such as expiration dates or contract values, transforming archives into active, searchable assets that support compliance and decision-making. And with reports and dashboards, customers can access essential agreement data in Navigator.

  • Trusted foundation with eSignature: The foundation of the platform remains eSignature, now enhanced with unlimited envelope sends to provide even more value. Every signed document includes a full audit trail and certificate of completion, ensuring trust and compliance at every step.

  • Simplified data entry: Additional tools help streamline the agreement experience. Web Forms pre-populate data for a more user-friendly experience, and Data Verification checks signer-entered data against third-party sources to minimize errors in real time.

Together, these features are packaged into pre-built applications to give agencies a powerful toolkit to modernize agreement processes, reduce administrative burdens, and accelerate mission delivery. These applications include:

  • IAM for Customer Experience: Agencies will be able to create easy and intuitive agreement experiences that reduce abandonment, improve conversions, and deliver a frictionless experience for constituents and employees alike.

  • IAM Core: Agencies can empower every stakeholder to complete agreements instantly, ensure seamless data accuracy across systems, and unlock valuable, AI-driven insights from your agreements to move your mission forward, faster.

With the Docusign IAM platform, public sector agencies and their partners can finally transform agreements from a point of delay into a strategic asset for a more efficient, data-driven government.
