Press Release

Foreign Secretary Mr. Amrit Bahadur Rai is leaving for Switzerland on 18 January 2026 leading a Nepali delegation to the fourth cycle of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) of Nepal. The review will be held in Geneva on 21 January 2026 during the 51st Session of the UPR Working Group of the Human Rights Council.

During the UPR, the Nepali delegation will present Nepal's national report highlighting the progress achieved since the previous review and ongoing efforts in the promotion and protection of human rights. The delegation will also engage in an interactive dialogue with Member States.
