CINCINNATI (October 8, 2026) - As millions of visitors visit Cincinnati for BLINK, a powerful beam of yellow and blue light will rise from The Christ Hospital's historic cupola on Mt. Auburn campus into the night sky, creating a beacon designed to be visible from miles away. You can view drone footage of the tower here.
The installation is inspired by the hospital's iconic tower and its enduring role as a symbol of care for the Cincinnati community. It also reflects The Christ Hospital's commitment to supporting the city it has served for generations by participating in one of Cincinnati's signature celebrations of art, creativity and light.
"For more than 120 years, our tower has stood as a symbol of something much bigger than a building," said Debbie Hayes, President and CEO of The Christ Hospital Health Network. "It represents generations of people who have dedicated their lives to caring for this community-by day or night, whenever and wherever we are needed. As Cincinnati comes together for BLINK, we wanted to celebrate along with all by illuminating that promise in a way our entire community can see."
Created in partnership with light and experiential artists, the installation will use a 500-watt, full-color RGB Architect laser system-one of only six such systems worldwide. The beam can be visible from more than 15 miles away. The light will illuminate the sky each evening of BLINK, visually connecting The Christ Hospital to the larger celebration taking place throughout Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky
"BLINK is about seeing Cincinnati in a completely different way and bringing our community together through creativity and light," said Leslie Mooney, VP & Executive Director of BLINK. "Having one of the city's most recognizable institutions participate from its historic home in Mt. Auburn extends that experience across the skyline and reinforces how truly citywide this celebration has become."
In honor of Cincinnati's BLINK festival on Thursday, October 8, every family who gives birth at The Christ Hospital's Mt. Auburn and Liberty Birthing Centers will receive a limited-edition "Born to Shine" onesie for the newest light in their lives. Below is a photo of baby Fynn (Born 10/5) son of Ashley and Wade Brown modeling the onesie.

The light of the tower will return on October 17 for The Christ Hospital Foundation's annual Gala, appropriately themed Illuminate the Path. The Gala theme was also inspired by the words spoken at the tower's 1904 dedication and will celebrate the people and philanthropy helping The Christ Hospital continue its mission to improve the health of the community and advance exceptional care for generations to come.
