Singapore, October 12, 2026 - Federal Express Corporation (FedEx), one of the world's largest express transportation companies, has enhanced its FedEx Import Tool with the introduction of an integrated duty and tax payment function and expanded availability to nine Asia Pacific markets. The new enhancement now enables importers to complete key customs clearance steps in a single digital platform, from document submission and clearance processing to shipment status tracking and duty and tax payment, helping reduce delays and improve the overall import experience.
Import trade volumes into the Asia Pacific region increased by ~15% year on year in Q1 2026[1]. Over a third of businesses in the region are also now running parallel supply chains to mitigate disruption risk[2]. As volumes and complexity increase, customs clearance is a critical factor in supply chain continuity and in maintaining inventory. Missing documentation, information, and payments can prevent shipments from being released. FedEx Import Tool helps importers proactively manage these requirements through a more streamlined, digital experience.
FedEx Import Tool is now available to customers across nine APAC markets, including Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand.
Key features include:
"Businesses today are navigating an increasingly complex landscape of customs regulations, documentation requirements, and import procedures across markets," said Salil Chari, president, Asia Pacific, FedEx. "As these requirements continue to evolve, customers need a simpler and more transparent way to manage import clearance. The enhanced FedEx Import Tool provides greater visibility and control throughout the import journey, helping businesses navigate cross-border trade with greater confidence."
FedEx Import Tool is part of the company's broader portfolio of digital solutions designed to simplify international shipping and customs processes for importers and exporters.
Additionally, FedEx Ship Manager™ is a signature tool that helps small businesses efficiently manage their shipments online. It now features integrated AI-powered tools that help improve documentation accuracy to support smoother customs clearance.
Also, as part of ongoing digital enhancements, the capabilities include Customs AI, an AI-powered chatbot that guides customers in creating more accurate product descriptions, and Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) Code Lookup, which leverages machine learning to help identify appropriate tariff classifications and reduce the risk of documentation errors that can delay shipments. Together, these innovations support FedEx commitment to making supply chains smarter and helping customers navigate an increasingly dynamic global trade environment.
