ADDIS URGES PREPAREDNESS AS TIMBER FIRE SPREADS

MONTEREY-Assemblymember Dawn Addis (D-Morro Bay) released the following statement after a CAL FIRE Cooperators meeting to discuss the ongoing Timber Fire response:

"Our first responders are working around the clock to address the Timber Fire, and I remain deeply grateful for their tireless service.

"I want to thank Will Goodman, Deputy Chief of State Operations, for bringing us together. Recent reports indicate that the fire has grown to more than 2,400 acres and is currently 5% contained. As the fire continues to spread, I urge those in evacuation warning zones to prepare their belongings in case an evacuation order is issued, especially anyone who may need additional time or assistance to evacuate.

"Our office remains ready to assist with any state resources needed, and we will continue coordinating closely with our federal, state, and county partners to ensure timely and consistent information reaches our communities."

Highway 1 remains open to evacuees, but remains closed to the public at the following locations:

Northside: 47200 SR-1 (Fernwood Resort)

Southside: Julia Pfieffer Burns State Park Vista Point (Mile Post Marker 37)
