The University of Iowa has launched a national search for the next dean of the College of Law.
The search comes as Dean Todd Pettys approaches the end of his term leading the college on June 30, 2027. Pettys will return to the College of Law faculty at the conclusion of his term or when a new dean is appointed.
"Todd has provided exceptional service to the College of Law and the University of Iowa, and I'm grateful for his leadership and partnership," says Kevin Kregel, executive vice president and provost. "His work has positioned the college well for its next chapter, and we look forward to building on that strong foundation as we identify the next dean."
Kregel has named faculty, staff, students, and alumni to a search committee for the next law dean.
Daniel Clay, dean of the College of Education, and Jill Wieber Lens, Dorothy M. Willie Professor in Excellence in the College of Law, will co-chair the committee.
