Background about this Project

This Downtown Interceptors Renewal Project is happening to ensure that our community can continue to flush the toilet, wash their hands, and run their businesses whenever they want. The project is led by NEW Water, the brand of the Green Bay Metropolitan Sewerage District. NEW Water owns and operates many miles of underground pipes, including a series of larger, deeper pipes called an interceptor system, located throughout Northeast Wisconsin. In downtown Green Bay, portions of this system have been in operation since the 1930s and are in need of improvements in order to revitalize critical, aging infrastructure toprotect public health and the environment.
