Wipe off the surf wax and get ready for some "Fun, Fun, Fun" as The Beach Boys head to the Colorado State Fair this summer. The iconic surf rock band will perform at the Southwest Motors Events Center on Thursday, September 3, celebrating 250 years of the United States, 150 years of Colorado's statehood, and the 60th anniversary of their groundbreaking album, Pet Sounds.
"We are thrilled to welcome The Beach Boys to this year's Colorado State Fair," said Andrea Wiesenmeyer, State Fair General Manager. "As the quintessential soundtrack of the American summer, their music perfectly aligns with this year's 250/150 celebrations. Bringing such an iconic, multi-generational act to Pueblo ensures an unforgettable experience for families and fans of all ages."
As The Beach Boys mark more than a half-century of making music, the group continues to ride a wave unmatched in America's musical history. Synonymous with the California lifestyle and beloved by fans around the world, The Beach Boys are bringing their "Sounds of Summer" tour to cities across the globe, including Pueblo.
Since co-founder, lead singer, and chief lyricist Mike Love penned the lyrics to the band's first hit, "Surfin'" (1961), dozens of The Beach Boys' chart-toppers have become enduring anthems of American youth, including "Surfin' USA," "Surfer Girl," "Fun, Fun, Fun," "I Get Around," "California Girls," "Help Me, Rhonda," "Barbara Ann," "Good Vibrations," "Wouldn't It Be Nice," "Rock and Roll Music," and "Kokomo."
The Beach Boys have sold more than 100 million records worldwide and have received over 33 RIAA Gold and Platinum awards. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees were also honored at the 2001 Grammy Awards with a Lifetime Achievement Award. With more than five decades of touring, The Beach Boys have performed more concerts than any major rock band in history.
The Beach Boys are led by Mike Love, who, along with musical director Brian Eichenberger, Christian Love, Tim Bonhomme, Jon Bolton, Keith Hubacher, Randy Leago, John Wedemeyer, and Chris Cron, continues the legacy of the iconic band.
Tickets for The Beach Boys range from $43.30 to $63.50. Tickets purchased before August 28 also include fair admission.
Presale tickets will be available beginning May 26, with general ticket sales starting May 27. Additional concerts and events will be announced in the coming weeks leading up to the Colorado State Fair.
