Hà Nội, 25 June 2026: The Longitudinal Study on Ageing and Health in Viet Nam (LSAHV) is commencing its third wave of data collection, continuing its role as the country's first nationally representative longitudinal study on ageing. The study is conducted by the Institute of Population, Health and Development (PHAD) in collaboration with, and with financial support from, ERIA.

LSAHV Wave 3 seeks to deepen understanding of the health status and well-being of older persons in Viet Nam. The study aims to identify the key determinants and correlates of health and well-being, while examining the factors that shape health outcomes and transitions over time.

To support the implementation of Wave 3 and maximise the policy relevance of its findings, an Advisory Committee meeting was held on 25 June 2026 in Hà Nội, Viet Nam. Hosted by PHAD and co-hosted by ERIA, the meeting brought together experts, researchers, and policymakers to review and provide strategic guidance on the study's questionnaires, protocols, and research instruments.

Discussions focused on ensuring the methodological rigour, policy relevance, and alignment of the survey with emerging demographic and public health priorities. The meeting concluded with an open exchange of views, fostering collaborative reflection on the study's direction and identifying priorities for future research and policy engagement.

Findings from Wave 3 are expected to inform the development of evidence-based health strategies and generate valuable insights for policymaking, programme design, and targeted interventions to address the evolving needs of older persons in Viet Nam.
