Become Sanctuary’s Undoubted Saviour

Well met, adventurer. Since we last gathered, you've braved the Shattered Wilds limited-time event and cleaved through the Boreal Nomads Battlepass. This content update brings enhanced server-matchmaking updates and improvements to Battleground, balance changes, and more.

As with previous content updates, there will be server maintenance starting on January 20, from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. PST for Oceania, East Asia, Southeast Asia, and Europe servers, and on January 21, from 12 a.m.-2 a.m. PST for servers in the Americas. After the maintenance has concluded, all items mentioned below will be live-specific dates for any features going live afterward are provided below.

Battleground Cross Region-Matchmaking Updates

We've heard plenty of community feedback requesting enhanced PvP matchmaking across more servers. We're implementing a suite of changes to Battleground matchmaking with the goal to improve the overall Battleground experience by having stronger and more diverse opponents and reduce matchmaking wait times.

Cross-Region Battleground Matchmaking (Phase One)

Starting with this content update, North American and South American servers will now be matched to compete against each other in Battleground.

This increases the available matchmaking pool, helping to get better matches, faster queue times, especially during off-peak hours.

This is part one of our planned cross-region matchmaking changes. We'll continue to monitor your feedback and performance to determine future improvements and next steps.

Expanded Battleground Availability

To better accommodate for time zone differences across North and South American regions, we're expanding the daily Battleground availability window so more players can participate during their preferred local time to play.

New Timing:

Round 1 - Battleground

  • BRT (South America servers): 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
  • ET (North America East servers): 6:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m.
  • PT (North America West servers): 3:00 a.m.-7:00 a.m.

Round 2 - Battleground

  • BRT: 12:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.
  • ET: 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
  • PT: 7:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m.

Round 3 - Convoy

  • BRT: 6:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m.
  • ET: 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.
  • PT: 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.

Round 3 - Battleground

  • BRT: 10:00 p.m.-5:00 a.m.
  • ET: 8:00 p.m.-3:00 a.m.
  • PT: 5:00 p.m.-12:00 a.m.

Season Transitions

The end of the current Battleground season and the start of the next Battleground season will occur around the following times:

  • BRT: 6:00 a.m. local time
  • ET: 4:00 a.m. local time
  • PT: 2:00 a.m. local time

Class Based Matchmaking Changes

We've also implemented a matchmaking change for Battleground that prioritizes putting different classes on separate teams. Additionally, as more players join the match, it will priority will be to separate similar classes to ensure varied teams.

Match Quality and Latency Adjustments

With cross-region matchmaking enabled, some matches may experience slightly higher latency if you're playing with someone from a different region. If you happen to matchmake with other players from a local server, we'll try and prioritize a faster and more stable connection by only using local servers.

We'll continue to monitor any latency issues, match quality, and your feedback after these changes.

Balances Changes

These balance changes will be effective everywhere across Diablo Immortal.

Crusader

  • Zeaflair (Helm)
    • Previous: Sweep Attack damage increased by 19%.
    • Now: Sweep Attack converts 25% of its damage dealt into a shield for 3 seconds, stacking up to 30% of your maximum Life.
  • Upturned Gaze (Shoulders)
    • Previous: Judgment now grants you an Aura of Judgement, marking nearby enemies with the cross, Slowing them and causing them to suffer additional damage when struck by your Primary Attack.
    • Now: Judgment now grants you an Aura of Judgement, marking nearby enemies with the cross, Slowing them. When a marked enemy is struck by your Primary Attack, they take additional damage that is considered Primary Attack damage.
    • Note: Judgement damage from this essence should now scale with Primary Attack damage instead of Skill damage.
  • Remonstrant Mace
    • Previous: Sweep Attack now grants you a Holy Flail for a short duration, causing your Primary Attack to sweep through enemies in a wide arc.
    • Now: Sweep Attack now makes you briefly Immune to knockback and total loss of control and grants you a Holy Flail for a short duration, causing your Primary Attack to sweep through enemies in a wide arc that deals increased damage with each successive hit.
    • Note: This grants immunity to CC for 2 seconds after using Sweep Attack and the damage increase scales from a 16% increase to a 96% increase.
  • Harras of the Steppes
    • Previous: Draw and Quarter now calls a swiftwind steed for you to ride, increasing your Primary Attack Speed.
    • Now: Draw and Quarter now calls a swiftwind steed for you to ride, increasing your Primary Attack Speed and causing your Primary Attacks to deal wind damage. Additionally, you cannot be dismounted from your steed when you suffer total loss of control, but your Skill damage is reduced by 45% while mounted.
    • Note: The gusts of wind left behind to boost Movement Speed has been removed to refocus this essence on damage instead of support.

Demon Hunter

  • Agony's Specter (Shoulders)
    • Previous: Escape now causes you to roll a short distance, empowering you and allowing your Primary Attack to shoot twice at once.
    • Updates: Escape distance increased from 2y to 4y. Projectile speed increased. Attack animation speed increased.
    • Note: Overall, this aims to increase the distance Demon Hunter can travel while making the attacks fired more likely to land because the skill is overall more responsive.
  • Brutal Temperance (Chest)
    • Previous: Vengeance now causes your Primary Attacks to also fire piercing rounds for a short while.
    • Updates: Damage increased from 90% base damage to 120%.
  • Twisted Wyrd (Mainhand)
    • Previous: Multishot now causes your Primary Attack to also shoot explosive shells for a short while.
    • Updates: Damage increased from 80% base damage to 120%. Projectile speed increased.

Druid

  • Wanton Buck (Pants)
    • Previous: Stag Charge now causes you to sprint forward as a stag, during which you are immune to loss of control and knockback, damaging and knocking back any enemies you hit.
    • Now: Stag Charge now grants you brief immunity to knockback and loss of control while causing you to sprint forward as a stag, damaging and knocking back any enemies you hit.
    • Note: Immunity duration is 1 second.
  • Saved by Nature
    • Previous: Circle of Life now grants nearby allies a regenerative seed that continuously heals Life and heals a large amount if their Life drops too low.
    • Updates: The passive healing proc when the skill is off cooldown has been removed. The player must have an active Circle of Life heal on them in order to receive the low life trigger.

Normal Gem Stack Changes

Normal Gems can now be stacked up to 9,999. This is also the new max stack amount when listing Normal Gems to the in-game Market.
