At the presidential session on Friday 17 April, the President of the Republic appointed Maimo Henriksson to serve as Head of Mission at Finland's Embassy in Warsaw and Tanja Jääskeläinen to serve as Head of Mission at Finland's Embassy in Oslo, starting on 1 September 2026.
The President of the Republic appointed Counsellor for Foreign Affairs Maimo Henriksson to serve as Head of Mission at Finland's Embassy in Warsaw, starting on 1 September 2026.
Maimo HenrikssonHenriksson will transfer to the post from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, where she has worked on a special assignment at the Department for Euro-Atlantic Affairs since September 2025. Before that, Henriksson served as Ambassador of Finland to Sweden.
Henriksson has previously served as Head of Mission at Finland's Embassy in Oslo. Her career in the Diplomatic Service also includes posts in Budapest and Moscow.
At the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Henriksson has served as Director General and Chief of Protocol at the Department for Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia and as Director of the Unit for Northern Europe at the Department for Europe.
Henriksson holds the degrees of Master of Science in Economics and Business Administration and Master of Laws. She joined the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in 1989.
The President of the Republic appointed Counsellor for Foreign Affairs Tanja Jääskeläinen to serve as Head of Mission at Finland's Embassy in Oslo, starting on 1 September 2026.
Tanja JääskeläinenJääskeläinen is currently Head of Mission at Finland's Embassy in Tokyo, where she has served since 2022.
Jääskeläinen has served as Ambassador of Finland to Tunisia. Her career in the Diplomatic Service includes posts in London, Damascus and Budapest.
Jääskeläinen has previously served, among other posts, as Deputy Director General at the Political Department, as Chief Specialist at the Department for Africa and the Middle East and as Diplomatic Adviser at the office of the Minister for Foreign Affairs.
Tanja Jääskeläinen holds degrees of Master of Social Sciences and Master of Arts. She joined the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in 1995.
At the presidential session on 17 April, the President of the Republic also appointed Ambassador Jari Luoto, Head of Mission at Finland's Embassy in Madrid, to serve as non-resident Ambassador to Andorra, and Ambassador Satu Lassila, Head of Mission at Finland's Embassy in Maputo, to serve as non-resident Ambassador to Madagascar.
