At the start of this New Year, MNPD strongly encourages Nashvillians and visitors to lock their automobile doors, secure any valuables---especially guns, and REMOVE THE KEYS.
In 2025, 1,011 guns were stolen from vehicles in Nashville, a 7% increase over 2024's total of 930.
The total number of guns stolen last year in Davidson County was 1,321, which means that 76% of guns stolen in our city were taken from automobiles.
Just like guns taken from vehicles, stolen autos are routinely involved in criminal activities, including carjackings and robberies.
