Today we recognise and thank the six nurses who work at Allawah Lodge for the care, compassion and support they provide each and every day. They play an important role in supporting the health and wellbeing of residents and provide comfort and reassurance to families.

Mayor David McCann OAM said International Nurses Day is an opportunity to acknowledge the incredible contribution nurses make within the community.

"Our nurses at Allawah Lodge go above and beyond every day to care for residents with kindness, patience and professionalism," Cr McCann said.

"They are often the friendly face, reassuring voice and caring support that means so much to both residents and their families. Council is grateful for the work they do and the compassion they show."
