Margaret Ormiston, an associate professor of management at the GW School of Business, will co-lead theTogether Everyone Achieves More in Science (TEAMS) program, a new $2.7 million initiative funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Awarded over five years to the Children's Research Institute at Children's National Hospital, the program will train early-career biomedical researchers to assemble, lead and retain high-performing research teams. Ormiston will co-lead the program with Beth A. Tarini, co-director of the Center for Health Outcomes Research and Delivery Science at Children's National.

Participants of TEAMS will learn to build research teams that are scientifically rigorous, cohesive and effective in complex research environments. Ormiston's research examines leadership within both top management teams as well as small groups in organizations to understand what makes them successful. Her work has been presented at international conferences and is published in leading academic outlets.
