Four-party consultations between the United States, Malaysia, Thailand and Cambodia in New York on the sidelines of the High-level Week of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly
On 26 September 2025, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs, participated in four-party consultations between the United States, Malaysia, Thailand and Cambodia in New York on the sidelines of the High-level Week of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, as proposed by the United States, aimed at promoting an atmosphere conducive to the peaceful resolution of Thai-Cambodian border tensions.
The consultations were business-like and did not create further obligations or conditions. Instead, they provided an opportunity for all parties to express their views on the future direction of efforts towards de-escalation and ensure strict adherence to the ceasefire agreement.
The Thai side viewed these consultations as a test of sincerity in resolving the issue, towards the primary goal of ensuring security along the Thai-Cambodian border and clarity in moving forward.
