City of Lewisville has earned the Gold Level Recognition Award from DFW Clean Cities for its fuel-saving and pollution-reducing efforts in fleet vehicles during 2025.
This is the fifth time Lewisville has earned the Gold Level Award. The City also has earned the Silver Lever Award twice and the Bronze Level Award three times.
Fleet Recognition is based upon DFW Clean Cities Annual Survey. Each year DFWCC re-evaluates its scoring structure so that fleets are scored according to certain criteria highlighted by the U.S. Department of Energy. Each fleet can earn up to 100 points and the score is based upon what is included in their annual fleet survey.
To be recognized, fleets must have adopted the Clean Fleet Policy, which Lewisville adopted in 2014. From there, points are awarded for items such as emissions reductions, overall reduction in fuel consumption, education, and outreach programs.
Fuel savings and pollution reduction by fleet vehicles are consistent with recommendations in the "Sustainability" Big Move of the Lewisville 2025 vision plan.
