CARBONDALE - The Illinois Department of Transportation is inviting the public to visit its exhibit in Expo Hall during the Du Quoin State Fair, where fairgoers can learn more about transportation projects in their communities, explore employment opportunities and receive assistance applying for jobs online.
Visitors can learn about seasonal and full-time positions with IDOT, including opportunities through the department's snowbird program, which helps provide additional staffing for snow and ice removal during the winter. Information about available positions is available at illinois.jobs2web.com, and IDOT staff will be on hand to assist visitors with the online application process.
The exhibit also will highlight major projects underway throughout southern Illinois, showcasing the continued investment in the region made possible by Gov. JB Pritzker's historic, bipartisan Rebuild Illinois capital program.
The Du Quoin State Fair runs Friday, Aug. 28, through Monday, Sept. 7. For more information, visit dsf.illinois.gov.
