Shield Capital Appoints Duncan Woodard as Director of Operations

Former Boston Capital Real Estate Partners Managing Director and U.S. Marine Corps Intelligence Officer Brings 25+ Years of Executive, Investment, and Operations Experience

BURLINGAME, Calif. - October 9, 2026 - Shield Capital today announced that Duncan Woodard has joined the firm as Director of Operations. Woodard will support the firm's core business operations, working alongside the Chief Operating Officer across finance, treasury, investor relations, capital formation, fund administration, and compliance.

Woodard joins Shield Capital after two decades in private equity and commercial real estate. Most recently, he served as Managing Director of Boston Capital Real Estate Partners, where he was a senior leader overseeing investments, portfolio management, and firm operations. He led capital formation and served on the firm's investment committee across institutional funds.

Woodard previously held progressively senior roles in acquisitions, fundraising, and asset management at Colony Capital, CBRE, and JLL.

From 2001 to 2007, Woodard served on active duty in the United States Marine Corps as a Ground Intelligence Officer and led combat and humanitarian operations during multiple deployments to Iraq, Southeast Asia, and Australia.

Woodard holds a B.A. in Business and Economics from Lafayette College and an MBA from the University of Washington.
