Via Christi St. Teresa has been recognized as one of the top health care facilities in Kansas, earning a place in the first-ever Forbes Top Hospitals By State list.
The list includes the top 30% of hospitals in each state based on data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, including specific measures that assess patient outcomes, hospital best practices, value and patient experience. The list places heavy emphasis on clinical patient outcomes such as mortality, infection and readmission rates.
The purpose of the list is to help patients in each state make informed decisions about their healthcare, and to serve as a benchmark for hospital leaders to compare their facility's performance with that of their peers across their state.
"We are incredibly proud to be recognized in Forbes' first state-by-state ranking," said Lori Tackett, hospital president. "This honor reinforces our team's dedication to delivering top-tier health outcomes and compassionate service guided by our Mission to serve West Wichita and our surrounding communities."
Established in 2010, Via Christi St. Teresa has also been selected as one of America's Best-in-State Hospitals 2025 by Newsweek and Statista, as one of the nation's 100 Top Hospitals and Top 20 Small Community Hospitals by Premier, Inc., and was one of only 253 out of 5,400 hospitals nationwide to earn a 5-star overall rating in the first-ever Forbes Top Hospitals list released in December 2025.
