One of Santa Fe's most beloved holiday traditions, the Annual Christmas Eve Farolito Walk, returns on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Canyon Road will glow with farolitos as residents and visitors gather to enjoy carolers, art, and the magic of the season.
Street Closures and Access Information
To help keep everyone safe during the event, the following vehicle access restrictions will be in place:
From 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., City of Santa Fe police and fire personnel will allow access only to residents and business owners. Canyon Road, Acequia Madre, and portions of side streets will be closed during this time.
After 5:00 p.m., access within the closure area will be limited to emergency vehicles only until 10:00 p.m. Passes will not be issued. Residents and business owners are encouraged to plan ahead and make sure guests and employees arrive before 6:00 p.m. Businesses are encouraged to schedule deliveries before 4:30 p.m.
Each year, thousands of people attend the Farolito Walk. The City of Santa Fe is taking steps to help ensure a safe and enjoyable evening for all. Attendees are encouraged to dress warmly, wear comfortable walking shoes, and use public transportation when possible. Streets in the area will be closed to vehicle traffic and parking during the event.
