RIDGEWOOD VILLAGE GAC TREATMENT

NJ I-Bank and NJDEP Helping to Improve New Jersey's Infrastructure, One Project at a Time

Ridgewood Village recently closed on three NJ Water Bank loans totaling $18,547,052 to address PFAS in its drinking water system. Testing of Ridgewood Water's wells and distribution system serving Ridgewood, Glen Rock, Midland Park, and Wyckoff found elevated levels of PFOA and PFOS that exceed NJDEP standards adopted in 2020. To meet these requirements, Ridgewood Water will build 12 centralized treatment plants and construct new raw water pipelines to deliver flow to the new facilities. The primary treatment method will be granular activated carbon. The project will be completed in phases through 2026.
