BakerHostetler Counsels Dr. Insanity in Acquisition by Wonderloom Media

A BakerHostetler team led by Partners Jeffrey Rosedale and Margaret Isa Butler and Counsel Jennifer Dare counseled YouTube true crime channel Dr. Insanity in its acquisition by new creator-first media platform Wonderloom Media. Dr. Insanity, co-founded by Harald Thafvelin, is a top YouTube draw, with more than five million subscribers and 1.3 billion views. Formed by Los Angeles-based investment company Content Partners, Wonderloom targets YouTube and other creator-led properties with strong communities and long-term growth potential. Ed Simpson, formerly Chief Strategy Officer at premium content platform Wheelhouse, will serve as the new platform's CEO.
The BakerHostetler team also included Partners Adam Gale, Justin Guilfoyle, Todd Lebowitz, Betsy Smith, Stefan Smith and Nichole Sterling. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
