Secretary of State Marco Rubio congratulated Peruvian President Keiko Fujimori on her inauguration during their June 30 call. The Secretary reaffirmed our commitment to deepening ties in the years ahead to strengthen security cooperation against transnational crime, expand trade and investment, and enhance disaster preparedness.

Secretary Rubio noted President Fujimori's inauguration brings much-needed political stability to Peru and that stable governance is essential to achieving the security and economic growth needed to improve the lives of the Peruvian people.
