The Doors guitarist Robby Krieger mourned the death of his wife, Lynn Ann Veres, after more than five decades of marriage.
Krieger, 80, announced her passing in a statement shared on the band's Instagram account Tuesday (Nov. 3), revealing that Lynn died peacefully on Oct. 29 at the age of 79.
"After more than 50 years of love and marriage, my wife Lynn Ann Veres passed away peacefully last night," he wrote. "Will miss her so much."
Krieger and Lynn, who served as the inspiration behind The Doors' classic hit "Love Her Madly," married on Christmas Day in 1972.
In his 2021 memoir, Set the Night on Fire, Krieger dedicated the book to his wife and praised her "fireball spirit."
"She's the only person I've ever met who lets me be me," he wrote at the time. "And that's why I'll always love her."
Krieger and drummer John Densmore are the surviving members of The Doors following Morrison's death in 1971 and keyboardist Ray Manzarek's death in 2013.
