SCHUMER, AFTER DELIVERING $30 MILLION IN FED FUNDING TO HELP MAKE 400-JOB EXPANSION HAPPEN, APPLAUDS RIBBON-CUTTING FOR TTM TECHNOLOGIES’ NEW STATE-OF-THE-ART FACILITY

TTM's 200,000+ Square Foot Expansion Makes Central NY Facility One Of North America's Biggest And Most Advanced Printed Circuit Board Manufacturing Sites, Bringing Total TTM Central NY Workforce To 1,000 Workers

Schumer Helped Land TTM's Major Expansion In Town of Dewitt Thanks To Prestigious "Tech Hub" Designation He Secured; Schumer Also Called On DoD To Invest Tens of Millions In Central NY To Boost Domestic Production Of Advanced Printed Circuit Boards Needed For Defense Industry - Which Right Now Are Overwhelmingly Made Overseas

Schumer: TTM Is Open For Booming Printed Circuit Board Business!

After helping land TTM's major expansion in Central NY and delivering $30 million in federal funding to greenlight the project, U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer today celebrated the ribbon-cutting of TTM Technologies' new, state-of-the-art printed circuit board factory in the Town of DeWitt.

"TTM's expansion in Central New York is officially open for business, making its state-of-the-art printed circuit boards right here in DeWitt! Today doesn't just mark a ribbon-cutting. It's the start of a historic effort to ensure the printed circuit boards our military and critical industries rely on are made at home, not overseas," said Senator Schumer. "When I wrote my CHIPS & Science Law and fought to deliver the 'Tech Hub' designation for the Syracuse-Rochester-Buffalo region, I did so with the vision that all the critical components of the tech supply chain would be stamped 'Made in New York.' I was proud to work hand-in-hand with Governor Hochul to bring this industry-leading facility to Onondaga County, and I was thrilled to deliver a major $30 million federal investment to fast-track this expansion and the 400 new, good-paying jobs it will create in Central New York. With investments like TTM's new PCB facility and Micron's historic $100+ billion megafab leading the charge, Central New York is ushering in America's next era of advanced manufacturing."

"TTM's continued investment in Central New York proves that New York State is a premier destination for companies that are ready to support the next generation through job opportunities," Governor Hochul said. "This top-tier project will create the good-paying manufacturing jobs that New Yorkers need in Central New York. I am grateful to TTM for advancing this project which will strengthen both our economy and our national security."

"This is more than a facility - it is a statement about where American defense manufacturing is headed," said Cathie Gridley, EVP and President of Aerospace & Defense at TTM Technologies. "Our defense customers need trusted, domestic, ultra-high-density interconnect production capability that meets the most demanding program requirements in the world. Today, we bring that capability to the United States. This investment strengthens the U.S. microelectronics supply chain, deepens our commitment to Central New York, and positions TTM to support the next generation of defense and national security technologies for decades to come."

Schumer fought hard for TTM's expansion in Central NY, personally calling their former CEO to make the case for the region, which resulted in TTM selecting Syracuse for their major 400-job expansion over a dozen other states. TTM cited the federal Tech Hub designation Schumer created in his CHIPS & Science Law and landed for the Syracuse-Rochester-Buffalo Region as one of the deciding factors in selecting the region as the home for their investment. Since then, Schumer helped the I-90 semiconductor Tech Hub become one of only twelve implementation award winners, delivering $40 million from his CHIPS & Science Law. This includes major funding for workforce training initiatives to close gaps in upskilling, hiring, and retention, especially for populations that have been historically excluded from tech and manufacturing-related job opportunities, which will help local workers get the skills they need for good-paying tech jobs like those at TTM.

TTM's expanded Central NY facility will be one of the most technologically sophisticated and largest printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturing sites in North America, with a highly optimized process to allow for shorter lead times, faster delivery, and a significant increase in domestic capacity for Ultra-HDI PCBs. The expansion will add 400 new employees to TTM's existing Central NY workforce of approximately 600 employees, bringing the company's total CNY footprint to 1,000 total personnel. These Ultra-High Density Interconnect (UHDI) PCBs are critical to our national security and a vital component of the microelectronics and semiconductor industries, which are also seeing increased demand nationally, driven by Schumer's CHIPS & Science Act.
