The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services recently announced its 2025 Overall Hospital Quality Star Ratings. Three Rivers Medical Center once again earned a five-star - the highest rating awarded - and is one of only two hospitals in Oregon to achieve this distinction in 2025.
"Our staff, physicians and advanced practice providers are at the forefront of this achievement," said Patrick Sharp, Three Rivers CEO. "This is a tremendous accomplishment, and we are grateful to serve our community by providing exceptional health care."
Nationally, just 10.1% of the 4,609 eligible Medicare-certified U.S. hospitals can claim this status. For hospital ratings, CMS examines 45 quality measures under several categories: mortality, safety of care, readmissions, patient experience and timely and effective care. Three Rivers met the standards in all those areas, including exceeding national standards in timely and effective care, readmissions and providing a great patient experience.
"Our organization has a culture of excellence. Daily, I hear from our patients about the wonderful care they receive at our facility. This recognition confirms the hard work and dedication of all our staff in caring for our community," said Dr. Scott Nelson, Chief of Staff.
