ICANN Announces ICANN86, ICANN87, and ICANN89 Locations

Today, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) announced the locations for ICANN86, ICANN87, and ICANN89. ICANN86 and ICANN87 will take place in 2026, and ICANN89 in 2027.

Seville, Spain has been selected as the location in the Europe region to host the ICANN86 Policy Forum. ICANN86 will be held from 8-11 June 2026. This is the first time that an ICANN Public Meeting will be held in Seville. ICANN63 was held in Barcelona in 2018.

Muscat, Oman has been selected as the location in the Asia Pacific region to host the ICANN87 Annual General Meeting. The event will take place from 17-22 October 2026. Muscat was originally scheduled to be the location for ICANN84 but was postponed. The meeting will be hosted by the Telecommunications Authority of Oman.

Vancouver, Canada has been selected as the location in the North America region to host the ICANN89 Policy Forum. ICANN89 will be held from 14-17 June 2027. An ICANN Public Meeting was last held in Vancouver in 2005 for ICANN24.

ICANN holds three Public Meetings each calendar year in different regions around the world. ICANN Public Meetings are an essential element of ICANN's multistakeholder model and provide a venue to progress policy work, conduct outreach, exchange best practices, conduct business, and interact with other members of the ICANN community, Board, and organization.

These meetings typically comprise more than 100 different sessions and are an important opportunity for individuals and representatives from ICANN's various stakeholder groups to discuss issues related to ICANN's policy development process. Participants may attend either in person or remotely. Meetings are free to attend and open to everyone.

About ICANN

ICANN's mission is to help ensure a stable, secure, and unified global Internet. To reach another person on the Internet, you need to type an address - a name or a number - into your computer or other device. That address must be unique so computers know where to find each other. ICANN helps coordinate and support these unique identifiers across the world. ICANN was formed in 1998 as a nonprofit public benefit corporation with a community of participants from all over the world.
