WEFLO (CEO Yeejung Kim), an artificial intelligence (AI)-based mobility diagnosis solution company, announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Korea Automobile Convergence Technology Institute to revitalize the physical AI industry in Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province.
The agreement was designed to transform UAM (urban air transportation), drones, and physical AI-related projects that WEFLO has been promoting in Jeonbuk's autonomous province to the stage of demonstration and commercialization. The two organizations plan to speed up the establishment of a future mobility ecosystem in the region by combining WEFLO's unique diagnostic technology and the infrastructure of the Korea Automobile Convergence Technology Institute.
WEFLO has a robot-based physical/vertical AI diagnostic technology that automatically collects more than five types of physical data generated from the aircraft by installing its own multimodal fusion sensor on the robot, and analyzes the collected multimodal data with AI to determine whether there is an abnormality. This technology is used in the ▲ automation of pre-operation inspection of drones and UAM aircraft ▲ abnormal diagnosis ▲ quality verification ▲ maintenance efficiency.
Currently, WEFLO is operating from various angles in the future aviation mobility ecosystem in Jeonbuk Province, including the Saemangeum unmanned mobile body comprehensive demonstration center promotion project. Through this agreement, the two organizations plan to cooperate closely in five areas, including ▲ technology information exchange and research cooperation ▲ infrastructure construction and demonstration ▲ joint discovery and execution of national public offering projects ▲ commercialization of R&D outcomes ▲ joint utilization of possessed equipment and facilities.
In particular, cooperation with the Automotive Convergence Technology Institute, a contributing institution of Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province, is expected to be an important bridgehead for WEFLOo's technology to be applied to actual industrial sites. The Korea Automobile Convergence Technology Institute is leading the research and development of future mobility conversion response technologies, autonomous driving, and intelligent convergence systems.
"This agreement will be a turning point for WEFLO to start demonstration and commercialization in the future aviation mobility industry ecosystem in Jeollabuk-do beyond simple technology exchanges," said Yeejung Kim, CEO of WEFLO. "We will continue to actively spread physical AI technology that enhances the safety of drones and UAM based on regional infrastructure and industrial networks."
