Harrisburg, PA - Treasurer Stacy Garrity announced today that more than $225,000 in unclaimed property was returned to Pennsylvanians during the 2026 Pennsylvania Farm Show, putting money directly back into the hands of families, farmers, small businesses, and visitors from across the state.
"The Farm Show gave us a unique chance to meet so many incredible farmers and families who help put food on the table for people across the state - and the country. While folks were enjoying the very best of Pennsylvania agriculture, our team was hard at work helping them find money they didn't realize was missing."
Of the property returned at the Farm Show, $12,110 was returned to the Pennsylvania Livestock Association.
"This money will be put to good use to enhance our youth programs and encourage more young Pennsylvanians to learn the ins and outs of the livestock industry and support our future agriculture leaders. The PA Livestock Association is grateful for Treasurer Garrity and her team for their efforts to return this money to our organization."
Treasury staff assisted Farm Show attendees and vendors throughout the event, helping them search for unclaimed property such as uncashed checks, dormant bank accounts, insurance proceeds, and other forgotten financial assets.
"It didn't matter if someone was selling food, showing livestock, or visiting with family, every claim returned meant real dollars going back to Pennsylvanians."
Treasury currently safeguards more than $5 billion in unclaimed property, which is owed to more than one in ten Pennsylvanians. The average claim is over $1,000.
Treasurer Garrity encourages all Pennsylvanians to check for unclaimed property at patreasury.gov/unclaimed-property.
