Last week, Iowa Corn's farmer-leaders headed south to San Antonio, Texas, to serve as delegates at the 2026 Commodity Classic. Iowa Corn Growers Association (ICGA) delegates advocated in support of policies and actions on behalf of Iowa corn farmer members to implement at the federal level with the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA).
"Commodity Classic is the last step in our policy development process when we bring forth new policies from the grassroots level and present them on the national stage," said Mark Mueller, ICGA President and farmer from Waverly, Iowa. "This year's theme was "Big Crowd. Big Ideas. Big Results." and I truly don't think they could have picked a better way to sum up the 2026 Commodity Classic. Our delegates voiced the needs of our grassroots members and presented resolutions that will allow growers to overcome challenges. The decisions made this week at Corn Congress will guide our federal legislative efforts going forward."
