Henderson State to host annual community Halloween event Oct. 31

Henderson State student organizations and groups will host the university's annual Halloween Trick or Treat event Friday, Oct. 31, on the South Lawn from 5-6:30 p.m.

Groups and organizations from across the campus community will hand out candy to the hundreds of trick-or-treaters expected to visit Henderson for the popular Halloween tradition.

"This family-friendly walk-through event welcomes kids from Arkadelphia and surrounding communities for an evening filled with fun, costumes, and plenty of candy," said Julie Lacy-McKenzie, director of student activities and leadership. "Our students, their advisors, student groups, and others, always show up in costumes to decorate their tables and hand out treats to the kids."

Lacy-McKenzie expects a large crowd and urges trick-or-treaters to arrive early because the line usually starts forming along Henderson Street an hour before the trick-or-treating begins.

The event will be held inside the Garrison Student Center in case of inclement weather.
