MoDOT to hold public meeting in Armstrong and three-week open comment period to follow
JEFFERSON CITY , M o . - The Missouri Department of Transportation is seeking community input on plans to replace the Business Route 240 and Missouri Route 3 bridge s over CPKC Railroad in Howard County, east of Glasgow . Built in 1934 and 1941, respectively both bridge s are in poor condition and ha ve reached the end of their useful li ves . Replacing both bridge s will require the closure of each bridge, with signed detour s . Construction is expected in 2027 or 2028 , dependent on contractor scheduling .
Publi c input is essential to help guide the design and construction process . There are multiple ways to comment, question , and provide insight : in person, online, by email, and by traditional mail.
The public is invited to attend an open-house - style public meeting on T hursday , Sept. 3 , at the Armstrong City Hall , 106 Halley Stree t , in Armstrong . Visitors may stop by at any time between 4: 3 0 and 6 p.m. to speak with project team members, view exhibits outlining the planned work , ask questions , and leave comments . There will be no formal presentation. Meeting materials will also be available online. MoDOT is committed to providing equal access to this event for all participants. In add ition to the public meeting, there will be a three -week open comment period running Aug . 2 7 - Sept. 17 , 2026.
