IMMEDIATE RELEASE March 27, 2026 Chairwoman Barela's statement on Congresswoman Teresa Leger Fernández opposing the House Republican bill to temporarily fund DHS: "Teresa Leger Fernández cares more about illegal aliens than her own constituents. She proves it every time she and her radical left colleagues continue to inflict pain on those who suffer during shutdowns. It is reprehensible that TSA workers were forced to work without their paychecks and, in some reported cases, sold their plasma to make ends meet simply because Democrats cared more about illegals than funding the department that protects our country from harm.
