City of Colorado Springs closures in observance of Independence Day scheduled furlough day Monday

The City of Colorado Springs Administrative Offices will be closed in observance of Independence Day on Friday, July 3 and for a scheduled furlough day on Monday, July 6. Most City administration departments will not be open for regular business on these dates. There are also some adjusted hours and closures on Saturday, July 4.

Emergency services, including the police and fire departments and the 911 call center, will continue to operate and respond as usual on both days. City enterprises that are self-funded will remain open on Friday. More information on furlough day closures can be found at ColoradoSprings.gov/FurloughDays.

Residents and businesses are encouraged to plan for any services that require in-person visits or administrative support.

Closed Both Friday and Monday

The following City of Colorado Springs administrative and elected administrative offices and agencies will be fully closed on Friday and Monday.

  • City Hall
  • Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum - Open regular hours on Saturday
  • Municipal Court
  • Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services Administrative Building
  • Sales Tax Office
  • Sports Office at Memorial Park
  • Westside Community Center
  • Deerfield Hills Community Center
  • Sertich Ice Center

Open Monday, Closed Friday (adjusted hours are noted)

  • Administrative offices for Mountain Metropolitan Transit - Buses operate on regular schedules both days
  • Hillside Community Center
  • Therapeutic Recreation Program
  • Evergreen and Fairview Cemeteries offices - Gates open to visitors both days

Closed Monday, open Friday

  • Starsmore Visitor and Nature Center/Helen Hunt Falls Visitor Center
  • Deerfield Hills Community Center Spray ground - Open regular hours on Saturday
  • Uncle Wilber Fountain in Acacia Park

  • Garden of the Gods Park
  • Pikes Peak - America's Mountain
  • Patty Jewett and Valley Hi golf courses - Open normal hours 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (weather permitting)
  • Patty Jewett Bar & Grill - Indoor dining open 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Valley Hi Grill & Pub - Indoor dining open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site

Adjusted hours and closures for Saturday

  • Palmer Park - Closed to vehicles all day
  • Garden of the Gods Park - Early closing at 8 p.m.
  • North Cheyenne Canon Park - Open until 2 p.m. or until Park is at capacity. Gold Camp Road will be closed to vehicles all day.
  • Memorial Park - To help protect public safety and reduce fire risk, the City of Colorado Springs will close Memorial Park to vehicle traffic beginning at 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 4.
  • Pikes Peak - America's Mountain: Open normal hours. Also open for the ticketed sunrise and sunset events. The Pikes Peak Highway Gateway will open at 4 a.m. for the sunrise event, with the last timed entry at 6 a.m., before reopening at 7 p.m. for the evening celebration. Visitors will begin their descent no later than one hour after sunset.
