IPA CIS Contributes to Development of Draft Programme for Implementation of Concept of Common Education Space

A meeting of the expert group to finalize the draft Programme for the Implementation of the Concept of Forming a Common (Unified) Education Space of the Commonwealth of Independent States for the period 2027-2035 was held in Minsk.

Representatives of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan took part in the discussion.

The experts reviewed proposals submitted by the CIS Member States and agreed on the final version of the document. The materials will be forwarded to the CIS states, the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS and the CIS Humanitarian Action Trust Fund .

The draft Programme includes more than 80 activities aimed at harmonizing the legal regulation of cooperation among CIS countries in the field of education, as well as at realising the scientific, technical, and educational potential of national systems. Particular attention is given to the development of unified approaches to the training and certification of academic and teaching staff.

The Programme also includes measures to enhance cooperation in the field of inclusive education, improve monitoring and quality assurance systems for vocational education, and expand joint projects in distance learning using digital technologies and data analytics.

Participants of the meeting included Head of the Model Law-Making Support Unit of the Expert and Analytical Directorate of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat, Secretary of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Science and Education Tatiana Baranova, and Deputy Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council - Plenipotentiary Representative of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Viktor Kogut.

The next meeting of the expert group will take place in February.
