Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Shri Durgadas Uikey informed Lok Sabha that as per census 2011, block wise population in Uttar Dinajpur district of West Bengal is given below:

As per the existing guidelines of EMRS Scheme, EMRSs are sanctioned in blocks having more than 50% ST population and at least 20,000 tribal persons (as per the 2011 Census). None of the blocks in Uttar Dinajpur district meet the above twin criteria.

9 EMRSs have been sanctioned in West Bengalout of which 8 EMRSs are operational. District wise status is given below:
