Whip Clark Statement on the Resignations of Eric Swalwell and Tony Gonzales

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Democratic Whip Katherine Clark (MA-5) issued the following statement:

"All survivors of sexual assault deserve justice. The resignations of Eric Swalwell and Tony Gonzales are an initial step in that direction. Their actions are unacceptable of anyone, anywhere - certainly not members of Congress.

"The American people deserve better than this. They should be able to trust their members of Congress to represent them with dignity and respect for the office that they hold. I am very grateful for the courage of those who have spoken out against predators who abuse their power. We will continue to stand with them in our fight for accountability."
