One of the biggest, generationally defining decisions facing BPA is the question of joining a day-ahead market. The Bulletin, a publication produced by the Northwest Public Power Association, collaborated with BPA to capture the decision-making criteria Administrator Travis Kavulla is applying to his analysis.

Kavulla, who was sworn in on June 29, brings more than a decade-and-a-half of energy market experience in both the private and public sectors. As he adroitly noted in his first remarks as administrator, the actual market and its location is not as important as ensuring that BPA's transmission infrastructure is sufficient to be competitive in that market.
