Chuck Swan WMA to Close Due to Winter Weather

MORRISTOWN, Tenn --- Due to forecasted inclement weather, the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) will close the gates at Chuck Swan Wildlife Management Area beginning this evening (Jan. 24).

The closure is a precautionary measure as winter weather is expected to arrive later in the afternoon. TWRA will reassess conditions on Sunday (Jan. 25) and provide updates when it is safe to reopen the area.

Chuck Swan State Forest and Chuck Swan WMA operate as a co-managed, 24,000+ acre peninsula on Norris Lake, balancing timber management with wildlife conservation and recreation. The Tennessee Division of Forestry manages timber and forest health, while TWRA oversees hunting, fishing, and wildlife management.
