RFK Jr. is a longtime promoter of raw milk and a customer of Raw Farm LLC, which is linked to the ongoing E. coli outbreak that has sickened nine people across three states
New reporting shows that Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has ties to an ongoing E. coli outbreak linked to dairy products from Raw Farm LLC that has sickened nine people across three states.
RFK Jr. is a longtime customer of Raw Farm and reportedly drinks the company's unpasteurized milk at home in California. Raw Farm's founder Mark McAfee has said he was asked to be a policy adviser for raw milk at HHS under RFK Jr.
RFK Jr.'s running mate even visited Raw Farm during the campaign, just a few months after it was linked to another E. coli outbreak that sickened people in five states.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has warned that "Unpasteurized milk can pose a serious health risk." It's no wonder that over 60% of Americans said they are not confident that RFK Jr. is providing the public with trustworthy information with regard to public health.
In response, DNC Spokesperson Jaelin O'Halloran released the following statement:
"The ongoing E. coli outbreak is the latest example of the dangers of RFK Jr.'s leadership at HHS. Donald Trump and RFK Jr. promised to 'Make America Healthy Again,' but they have done the opposite: Outbreaks of preventable and deadly diseases are spreading across the country, making Americans sick and even putting their lives at risk. RFK Jr. is a quack who has carelessly risked the health and safety of American children and families - and he should be held accountable."
Raw Farm has refused to voluntarily recall its products linked to the outbreak, prompting concerns that the FDA may be avoiding a forced recall based on political considerations. Raw Farm has been linked to several previous outbreaks, resulting in 16 recalls for salmonella, E. coli, bird flu, and campylobacter.
