A pedestrian has died weeks after a crash in Northeast Portland.
On Friday, September 19, 2025, at approximately 8:00 a.m., officers assigned to the Portland Police Bureau's Central Precinct were dispatched to a reported crash in the area of Northeast 16th Avenue and Northeast Sandy Boulevard. When they arrived at the scene, officers learned that a pedestrian had been transported to a local hospital, with injuries that were believed to be non-life-threatening, after a crash involving a TriMet bus.
On Tuesday, December 16, 2025, a representative of the Multnomah County Medical Examiner's Office notified PPB's Major Crash Team Sergeant that the pedestrian, Scott Tierney, 74, of Portland, died, and the death was a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
