Last week, Congressman Adam Gray (CA-13) joined members of the Modesto Police and Fire Departments to celebrate nearly $2 million dollars in federal funding he secured for improvement projects.
The funding for these projects was secured by Congressman Gray as part of the 2026 Community Project Funding process. Under House Appropriations Committee guidelines, each Representative was able to request funding for up to 15 projects for Fiscal Year 2026. Projects are restricted to applicable federal funding streams and only state and local governments and eligible nonprofits were permitted to receive funding.
"One of my top priorities in Congress is bringing back federal funding to the Valley," said Congressman Adam Gray. "This nearly $2 million dollars in community project funding that we secured will help ensure that the Modesto Police Department and the Modesto Fire Department can make the necessary infrastructure improvements needed to keep the Valley safe and prepared to respond to emergencies."
During his visit to the Police Department, Congressman Gray met with Chief Brandon Gillespie and Modesto law enforcement officials to see how more than $1 million dollars in federal funding he secured for cutting-edge technology upgrades will help keep the Valley safe.
At Station 1 in downtown Modesto, Congressman Gray did a walkthrough with Chief Shanon Evans to see firsthand how $850,000 in federal funding he secured will be used for the rehabilitation and improvement of the station.
