Members of the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) attended the two-day workshop on the formulation of the 2026 -2028 Peace and Order and Public Safety (POPS) Plan at Mambukal Resort and Wildlife Sanctuary in Minoyan, Murcia.
The workshop that ended on October 7 was organized by the Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO), in collaboration with the provincial office of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
PPOC is chaired by Governor Eugenio Jose V. Lacson, with DILG Provincial Director Teody Sumagaysay and Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz II as secretariat and co-secretariat, respectively.
The council members are composed of representatives from the provincial
and national line government offices, the Philippine Army and Philippine National Police with their attached agencies, and 3 Civil Society Organizations (CAOs) namely the Kauswagan Victorias Foundation, Inc. (KVFI), Negros Occidental Drug Rehabilitation Foundation (NODRFI) and Association of Negros Producers (ANP), Inc.
Leda Alagban, LGOO VII of DILG Region 6 served as the main resource person of the workshop which discussed on the following POPS focused areas namely Crime and Disorder, Illegal Drugs, Conflicts, Road and Vehicle Safety.
Also included as components were the Emergency Crisis and Fire Safety, Establishment and maintenance of CCTV and the Unregulated Use of Fore Crackers.
Members presented their short situation reports, identified their POPS issues, objectives, targets, strategies and programs, projects and activities (PPAs).
The 2026-2028 Provincial POPS plan will be presented for approval of PPOC during its 4th quarter meeting.*
