City of Modesto's Housing Continuum Dashboard is now live on City View!

The City of Modesto continues to take a proactive approach to housing and homelessness by working closely with regional and community partners. The City's Housing Continuum Dashboard is now live on City View, the online open data platform designed for community members to easily access data that informs the decision-making process for our City.

The Housing Continuum is a framework that shows the progress of housing options and support services available in our community. The Continuum guides how the City of Modesto plans for new housing projects and future investments based on the needs of residents at every stage of stability. This includes investments in the following elements:

  • Emergency Shelter: Short-term, temporary shelter that provides safety, basic needs, and access to services. Shelters help people stabilize while developing a plan for next steps in housing.
  • Transitional Housing (including Bridge Housing): Time-limited housing paired with supportive services. Transitional and bridge housing offer a safe, structured environment for residents working toward permanent housing.
  • Permanent Supportive Housing: Long-term, affordable housing combined with on-site supportive services.
  • Affordable Rental Housing: Income-restricted rental units that provide stable, long-term housing options for low- and moderate-income households.
  • Affordable Homeownership: Programs and housing opportunities that help income-qualified households purchase homes at below-market prices, supporting long-term stability.

The new Housing Continuum Dashboard is a dynamic and interactive tool designed to help the community understand where affordable housing investments are taking place, how resources are being used, and when progress is being made across the continuum. The dashboard showcases stats by unit type, status of completion, and subpopulation served. For example, the dashboard displays that 603 housing units have been completed since 2019, with another 331 in the pipeline for future development. As affordable housing and homelessness continue to be a top priority for the community, the City of Modesto is making meaningful progress that can be accessed by all, in one place.

See real progress in our community by checking out the Housing Continuum Dashboard for yourself.
