IDNR to allocate trapping permits for Sand Ridge State Forest on Oct. 25

SPRINGFIELD - The Illinois Department of Natural Resources will conduct a public drawing for the allocation of trapping permits for Sand Ridge State Forest in Mason County at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25. Registration begins at 9 a.m. at the site headquarters.

Trapping will be permitted in the designated areas from the statewide opening until the statewide closing date. Two names are allowed per permit and only those names listed are allowed to trap.

All persons entering the drawing must have a current or previous year trapping license in their possession. Persons whose names are drawn must be in attendance.

Sand Ridge State Forest
is located at North County Road 2600 East, Forest City. The site has more than 7,000 acres of forest, camping, hunting and hiking trails. For additional information contact the site at 309-597-2212.
