Juba, May 14, 2026- -Minister of East African Community Affairs, Hon. Pieng Deng Kuol, on Thursday called on East African Community (EAC) member states to implement resolutions adopted during the 17th East African Procurement Forum to strengthen transparency and accountability in public procurement systems across the region.
Speaking at the closing session, Minister Kuol underscored the importance of enhancing institutional cooperation and mutual support among EAC partner states to ensure effective implementation of the resolutions.
The four-day forum, hosted by the Bank of South Sudan (BoSS), was held under the theme, "Enhancing Beneficial Ownership Disclosure in Public Procurement Systems." Delegates from EAC partner states adopted several resolutions aimed at reinforcing institutional collaboration, strengthening cooperation, and improving transparency and accountability in procurement processes across the region.
The forum brought together procurement experts, policymakers and regional stakeholders to discuss reforms intended to improve governance and integrity in public procurement systems within the East African region. In attendance were Bank of South Sudan 1st Deputy Governor for Policy and Banking among other officials.
