The Cross-Functional Collaboration award goes to the best use of the Workiva platform across business lines, accessible to all stakeholders, and powered by innovation. This year, nobody did that better than Pie Insurance.
Alex Davis, Deputy CFO at Pie Insurance, has consistently driven adoption and integration of the Workiva platform across organizations. He has carried over a passion for continuous improvement, team empowerment, and data management from his previous tenure at a global insurance firm to his current leadership position at Pie Insurance.
"Among other use cases, our finance and accounting teams leverage the Workiva platform to generate real-time analytics that enhance our decision-making capabilities. Working together and utilizing this information, they are identifying in-period errors and correcting them before financial statements are produced, improving the reliability and credibility of the information we deliver," shared Alex.
By unifying stakeholders and fostering buy-in-even at the CEO level-Alex has transformed how Pie Insurance approaches planning and reporting. Alex also never treats a project as "finished." His forward-looking approach and ongoing engagement make him an extraordinary partner as Workiva develops and refines products and features.
The IPO of the Year award recognizes the customer who acted with speed and urgency while also maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, attention to detail, and efficiency throughout the process of going public-qualities that Voyager demonstrated in abundance.
Before Voyager's successful IPO in June, a huge hurdle was time-consuming, manual financial reporting. Lance Weber, Chief Accounting Officer of Voyager, noted, "The Workiva platform automated and streamlined a significant portion of our financial reporting process, which was crucial to make the jump from a private to public company."
The partnership between Voyager and Workiva thrived on transparency and trust. Lance and his team's openness through both the exciting and stressful stages strengthened collaboration and laid the foundation for long-term success. Their IPO journey reflects not only a huge financial milestone but also a testament to the power of innovation and collaboration in achieving ambitious goals.
