Trilateral Meeting between the Philippines, Brazil and the ASEAN Secretariat convenes in Manila
Secretary-General of ASEAN Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, today participated in the Trilateral Meeting between the ASEAN Chair, the Philippines, Brazil and the ASEAN Secretariat. The Meeting was chaired by Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines, Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro and attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federative Republic of Brazil, Mauro Vieira, and Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn.
The Meeting discussed the ASEAN-Brazil Sectoral Dialogue Partnership, including the implementation of the ASEAN-Brazil Practical Cooperation Areas (2024-2028), and reaffirmed the shared commitment to further strengthening the partnership, which continues to hold historic significance as Brazil became ASEAN's first Sectoral Dialogue Partnership with a country from Latin America in 2022, and reflects the growing inter-regional engagement between ASEAN and Latin America.
