HACU holds the International Plenary of its 40th Annual Conference

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities held the International Plenary, "Global Pathways to Graduation: Expanding International Access, Mobility, and Student Success," on Nov. 2, 2026.

International Plenary speakers included San José State President Cynthia Teniente-Matson; Laredo College President Maria Mineta Ramirez; California State Polytechnic University, Pomona President Vanya Quiñones; and University of Castilla-La Mancha Vice Rector for Internationalization Raúl Martín Martín. The plenary's panel discussion was moderated by San Bernardino Community College District Chancellor Diana Z. Rodriguez.

Discussions focused on how international partnerships, exchange programs, and global initiatives can enhance retention, degree completion, and career readiness. Panelists highlighted scalable models that expand access, reduce barriers, and align global engagement with equity and workforce goals.

The Exemplary International Partner Award was presented to La Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha, which recognizes a member that has excelled in supporting HACU's international work. Martín Martín accepted the award on the organization's behalf.

The HACU International Plenary was part of HACU's 40th Annual Conference, "40 Years of Championing Higher Education Success: One Graduate at a Time," held Oct. 31-Nov. 2, 2026, in Chula Vista, California.
