The message reads, in part:
"This year's festival is taking place in the year marking the 65th anniversary of Yury Gagarin's legendary space flight, and its programme therefore features an impressive number of celebratory events. Visitors can look forward to discovering new feature, documentary and animated films dedicated to landmark chapters in the history of Russia's space exploration, as well as educational tours, exhibitions, academic discussions and meetings with prominent politicians, scientists and performers.
I am confident that the Tsiolkovsky Space Film Festival will become an important event in the country's cultural and public life, and that its programme will generate genuine interest among people of all ages - young audiences, families with children, and guests who have come to the Kaluga Region from across Russia and from abroad. The forum will, of course, also help to promote knowledge about space and enhance the prestige of professions associated with the rocket and space industry."
